I’ve made it my mission to be your
brand’s best friend. Why? Because every independent business owner needs a
sounding board - someone who cares
about their business as much as they do
to listen to their ideas, support their vision, brainstorm opportunities, and help them
own it. This is how I have always done my
best work for clients. But let me tell you
how and why I got here.

Your life has worth not because of anything you can do, but because of who you are.

Sr. Mary Grace S.V.

I founded this company after a long career serving corporate brands alongside some of North America’s most renowned branding experts and creators. I had the opportunity to work in some of Canada’s most prestigious advertising agencies, retail design firms
and media powerhouses. I learned what it takes to make big brands work and I helped a lot of companies make a lot of money.

But after years of climbing the mountain of this career, I had to take a leap of faith away from it. Something was missing. I was missing.

Just shy of my 40th birthday, I cut the cord and quit without a plan or any idea about where I might land. I had lost sight of why I was doing this work and where I expected it to lead me.

I needed to re-connect with myself and the impact that my work was having on my life and those I shared it with. I knew that I loved doing brand work, but I needed to be able to care more deeply about who I was doing it for.

I needed to feel a greater connection to the human beings of the businesses I served.

I wanted the work that I spent my life doing to make a difference.
A real difference, not in the form of sales spikes and client acquisitions, but for humanity.

The year I stepped away from it all, I visited a networking group of independent business owners, and I was humbled.

Witnessing these entrepreneurs stand up to pitch their businesses to each other reignited my passion for branding. I realized the work I had done for retailers, telcos and non-profit organizations could be just as valuable in helping individuals hone in on their personal and professional identity.

To me, business owners living out their “why” seemed more important, more inspiring, and more valuable to this world than any major corporate brand I could work for. Life coaches, real estate brokers, artists, chefs, business consultants, therapists, florists alike - these business owners were more passionate than I had ever been,
and I wanted in.

I felt called to join them, get in on the ground level, and start something of my own. I wanted to do the brand work I had always done, only now for entrepreneurs. People who might not have the budgets to hire big agencies to work on their brands for them, but an endless supply of heart and soul to WERK their own brands.

I named this company WERK Marketing because I am committed to serving the people of our time who have the courage to step into their power and do what they love.

Work is something we have to do. When we WERK, we step into what we want to do. WERK is of us. It’s the unique expression of our commitment to honour who we are. I learned the powerful difference between working for brands and werking my own brand, and I’m here to help you do the same.

Because nothing is more true - your business and brand WERK when you do.

Here’s to your WERK!
